Hi, I’m Lisa — and I believe growth happens through connection, not perfection

My Story

Hi, I’m Lisa Krause,

a Family Life Educator, Coach, and Jeep-riding grandma who believes growth happens through connection, not perfection.

For over 20 years, I’ve helped families and professionals rediscover their strengths and grow with compassion, structure, and hope.

Whether we meet on Zoom or you catch me on a dirt road with coffee in hand, you’ll find someone who’s been there, gets it, and believes in your ability to grow.

How I Got Here

My path into family coaching wasn’t perfectly planned — it was lived.
I’ve parented through seasons of joy and through storms I never expected. Despite years of study in psychology and family science, some of my greatest lessons came from the moments that didn’t go by the book.

Those experiences reshaped how I work with families. They taught me that real growth isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about learning to listen, to adapt, and to find rhythm in the middle of the mess.

“Sometimes we are drawn into the lives of others because something within us needs to grow.”
— Jacqueline Winspear, Messenger of Truth

That line resonates deeply with me. Every family I meet invites me to grow, too. I earned my M.A. in Family Life Education and taught coaching at Concordia University for over a decade, but life has been my most honest teacher.

Like the families I coach, I’m still learning to dance in the rain — finding balance between structure and grace, knowledge and compassion.
I’ve learned that growth rarely feels tidy — it feels like movement, flow, and courage in real time.

How Coaching Feels

Coaching with me feels like exhaling.
It’s not about judgment or quick fixes — it’s about curiosity, reflection, and small, steady steps that help you feel more confident and connected.

I draw from decades of experience as a Certified Family Life Educator and Coach, and from my years training future coaches. My work stays grounded in research, evidence-based practice, and professional standards aligned with the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

But my greatest lessons haven’t come from textbooks — they’ve come from parents, students, and the children (mine and others) who remind me that growth is always mutual. Despite years of study, I’m still learning to “dance in the rain.” Every conversation changes me, too.

I don’t come to this work to model perfection — I come as a fellow traveler, grateful for the chance to grow alongside others.

My Process

My process blends reflection and action. We begin by exploring what’s working, what’s hard, and where you want to grow. From there, we experiment with small steps that build connection, confidence, and consistency — in ways that fit your real life.

Whether you’re a parent or a professional, coaching is a space to pause, breathe, and uncover what’s already strong within you.

What I Believe

Families thrive when adults feel supported.
Professionals grow best in supportive communities.

Growth happens when we pause, reflect, and stay curious.

Everyone deserves to feel both lovable and capable.
